Cosy & comfortable
The Hotel Bauhof always has a place for good food, heart-warming cosiness and an informal atmosphere. South Tyrol’s famed hospitality also features prominently in our restaurant and snug areas. If you find this cosy atmosphere to your liking, then we can only compliment you on your good taste!
The “Bauhof” in Kastelbell belonged from the 13th century onwards to the noble lords of Kastelbell, who exercised jurisdiction in the lower Vinschgau on behalf of the sovereign rulers, the Counts of Tyrol, up until the early 19th century. The Hotel Bauhof was formerly one of the farms that belonged to a large landowner (spiritual or temporal) and was managed by a tenant. These farms were devoted almost exclusively to the tilling of the land (the meaning of the name Bauhof relates to the cultivation of the fields), with the harvest intended for market; animal husbandry was simply for the farm’s own requirements.
